Big stir in Panthic circles: Giani Raghbir Singh, who taught Sikh Rehat Maryada for 19 years, is himself in the midst of controversy Amritsar 14 July ( PDL ) : A picture related to Giani Raghbir Singh, former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and former Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, is rapidly going viral on social media. Timely medical intervention essential to control hypertension : expert

Chandigarh 16 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : While highlighting the importance of early detection, regular monitoring, and lifestyle management in tackling hypertension, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, principal consultant– cardiology, Max Hospital, Mohali said that timely medical interventions are essential to control hypertension and reduce long-term health risks. Dr. Sharma said,” Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is often referred to as a “silent killer” because it may not present noticeable symptoms but can lead to serious complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney disorders if left unmanaged.”

Many people remain unaware that they are living with high blood pressure until serious complications develop, he elaborated. Regular health check-ups, a balanced diet, reduced salt intake, physical activity and stress management helps to control hypertension, he asserted Dr. Sharma also highlighted the growing prevalence of hypertension among younger individuals, driven by sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy eating habits, rising stress levels, and lack of physical activity.

He also encouraged people to monitor their blood pressure regularly and seek timely medical advice. Early diagnosis and simple lifestyle modifications can significantly help in preventing complications and improving overall quality of life.
