Conveners, executive members, and employees from various employee organizations and federations participated in the protest rally. Mississauga 29 June ( PDL ) : Ontario Friends Club (OFC) and Jagat Punjabi Sabha celebrated Father’s Day with great pomp and show at Satkar Banquet Hall, Mississauga. More than 200 dignitaries attended the event. Kulwant Singh Chatha inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. The program was hosted by Santokh Singh Sandhu and Dr. Ramni Batra. On this occasion, fathers who have contributed to various fields of society were honored. Among the honorees were Mohan Singh Atwal, Mohinder Singh Thiara, Gurmail Singh Such, Harbhajan Singh Bath, Dr. Rajesh Batra, Gurdev Singh Johal, Captain Karam Singh Deol, Amrik Gogna, Tarlok Singh Kahlon, Gurnam Singh Todarwal, Tahir Aslam Gora, Ram Pal Pawar, Raman Vasudev, Ashish Mehra, Jaswinder Singh Matharu, Mohan Panjala and Happy Mangat were present.
The special highlight of the event was the speeches given by the children in honour of their fathers. Sehaj Mangat, Ricky Gogna, Menu Kahlon, Inder Pal, Rita Josan, Dhruv Pawar, Naav Karan and other children expressed their views and narrated the contribution of their fathers in their lives. On this occasion, Hardev Chauhan, Satnam Kaur, Balkar Singh Chatha (France), Lakhbir Singh Chatha, Malkit Singh Aujla, Satinder Kahlon, Dr. Solman Naz, Bant Nijjar, Thind Sahib and many other gentlemen were also present. Chairman Ajaib Singh Chatha extended Father's Day greetings to the attendees and appealed for full attendance and cooperation for the 12th World Punjabi Conference to be held on 17, 18 and 19 July 2026. The members present shared their views to make the conference a success and assured full cooperation.The presidium of the event included Malkit Singh Johal, Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, Gurpreet Singh Dhillon and Sardul Singh Thiara.Sardul Singh Thiara informed that the poet who secured the first place in the Kavi Darbar to be held on the evening of 18 July 2026 will be given a cash prize of $ 501 by Tarlok Singh Kahlon. Malkit Singh Johal was specially honored during the event. Apart from this, the donors who provided financial support for the World Punjabi Conference were also honored. The members also took on various responsibilities to make the conference a success. During the event, Bhangra and Kav compositions entertained the audience. The organizers sincerely thanked the supporting guests for making the event a success and announced to meet at the upcoming three-day World Punjabi Conference.
