Chandigarh 21 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The state committee of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Dakounda has strongly condemned the blind repression on the students and supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party who were marching/demonstrating from Jantar Mantar to Parliament on July 20. The state committee has also blamed the government for beating up students of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Issuing a press statement in this regard, the state president of the organization, Manjit Singh Dhaner, said that despite 89 paper leaks and 17 students committing suicide, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is adamant not to dismiss the Education Minister from the post of Education Minister. He has not even considered it appropriate to open his mouth on this issue till date. The Prime Minister's attitude has reminded us of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident when Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Taini, despite being nominated in the murder of four farmers and a journalist, was kept in the post of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. The state committee expressed concern that since the past, people in civilian clothes have been beating up protesters in collaboration with the police. The state committee demanded that these persons who beat up students be identified and given strict punishment and Dharmendra Pradhan be immediately removed from the post of Education Minister.
Along with this, the administration of Panjab University Chandigarh has also strongly condemned the permission given to Shanti Kumari and Sadhvi Ritambhara's program in the university to propagate the hateful ideology of RSS and the beating of students. The state committee said that for the last two to three years, the Punjab government has also been following in the footsteps of the Modi government in the matter of oppression against farmers, sometimes teachers, sometimes apprenticeship line men and now MNREGA workers. The leaders said that on July 22, toll plazas will be made free from 12 pm to 3 pm in all Punjab against the free trade agreement and dharnas will be held in front of the houses of BJP leaders. Meanwhile, effigies of the Modi government will also be burnt for the oppression done to students. The state committee has appealed to the people to further strengthen their organizational unity against this oppression and take the path of scientific lines and struggles.
