Demand for justice by giving memorandum to Deputy Commissioners in the name of Union Home Minister : Wadala
Chandigarh 14 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) Secretary General Gurpartap Singh Wadala informed through a press statement that today, five Panthic organizations have jointly given a memorandum to the Union Home Minister in the name of the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of Punjab, demanding the formation of a Truth Commission to conduct an impartial investigation into the events that took place in Punjab from 1980 to 1995. Wadala said that at present, some people who are doing light politics about the Sutlej film are trying to make it a Hindu Sikh issue. Who do not even know that Punjab is a state that follows Gurbani teachings, which did not choose the path of communal riots in November 1984 even after killing thousands of its relatives across the country. Then this film is only related to the life struggle of Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra ji, in which he talks about the common people who were disappeared by the police. Which also included the cases of Hindu youths killed in Tarn Taran.
There is nothing in this film that creates incitement against the country or any community. Wadala said that today we have demanded from the Home Minister of the country that 'Punjab Truth and Accountability Commission' be formed. So that the exact number of those who died can be found by conducting an impartial investigation into the incidents that took place during this period. In this memorandum, a demand has also been made to release the film 'Punjab 95' based on the struggle of Jaswant Singh Khalra in cinema halls without any censor cuts. It has also been demanded from the Union Home Minister that Khalra and other innocent killer policemen who have been absconding for three years after being released from jail, should be found and thrown back into jail. Today's demand letter was jointly given by Shiromani Akali Dal Punar-Surjit, International Panthak Akali Dal, United Akali Dal, Begampura Khalsa Raj Party and Panthak Azad Group. In which thousands of workers and leaders of all the parties participated.
