Patti 11 July ( PDL ) : A massive public rally organized by the Akali Dal Waris Punjab De in Patti, district Taran Taran has reshaped the political image of Punjab. The huge massive turnout has given a new direction to Majha's political equations and sent the message that the pro-Panthic sentiment which got strengthened during the Lok Sabha elections is now succeeding in mobilising the youth. Under the leadership of youth leader Harpreet Singh Patti, large numbers of youth, sarpanches, panches, and women from various parts of Tarntaran district participated in the rally.
Addressing the gathering, Bapu Tarsem Singh appealed to the youth and urged them to get out of drug addiction and appealed them to take an active role in serving the Panth and Punjab. He said that the massive crowd is the proof that the wave which rised during the Lok Sabha elections for the rights of Punjab and the Panth has now turned into a larger movement. Bapu Tarsem Singh said that no central political power has shown sincerity in resolving Punjab's issues. He said that since independence, Punjab has continuously faced discrimination - whether it is water issue, the matter of the capital Chandigarh , issues related to Panjab University, the Bhakra Beas Management Board, the release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences, or justice for the violence against Sikhs in 1984; till today no central government has delivered justice to Punjab. He added that it is heartening that Punjab's youth have become aware of their rights and are prepared to play a decisive role in the times ahead. In his address, MLA, Mullanpur Dakha, Manpreet Singh Ayali, congratulated the youth for their awareness and assured them that continuous efforts would be made to ensure that Punjab's youth get the opportunity to become the voice of their own rights. Ayali also targeted the central government over the ban on the film based on Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra. He said the central government's intention is to prevent the real stories of those who fought for their rights and for justice from reaching the public, but the government has forgotten that now every village's gathering place (satth) has become a cinema hall screening the story of Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra.
Manpreet Singh Ayali also demanded that Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, who sacrificed his life for human rights, be honoured with the *Panth Ratan* award, and he should be conferred a prestigious national-level honour by the President of India. Senior party leaders including Bhai Tarlochan Singh Tur, Youth president Sardar Sukhdev Singh Qadian, Bhai Amarjit Singh Vannchidi, Paramjit Singh Johal, Chamkaur Singh, Lakha Singh Sidhana, Bhana Sidhu, and many other leaders were among those present at this historic gathering.
