Chandigarh 5 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Today, under the banner of the Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha , various federations held a protest rally at the Sector 23 ground in support of their long-pending demands. Conveners, executive members, and employees from various employee organizations and federations participated in the protest rally. Addressing the rally, representatives from various federations accused the Chandigarh Administration and the Municipal Corporation administration of adopting an indifferent attitude towards resolving the employees' long-standing demands. Martyrs paid floral tributes at SCD Government College Ludhiana on Kargil Vijay Diwas

---Alumni and current Students remember their sacrifices.

Ludhiana 27 July ( PDL ) : To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, the alumni, current students and faculty of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, assembled at the College Centenary Memorial Park to pay heartfelt tributes to the nation's war martyrs. Remembering the supreme sacrifices made by soldiers in various wars, the gathering offered floral tributes and saluted the portraits of the brave heroes. Among those present were Principal Gursharanjit Singh Sandhu, O.P. Verma, PCS (Retd.), Col. J.S. Gill, Hari Om Jindal (Advocate), Mamata Vadhera (Advocate), Narinder Singh Masson, Prof. Saurabh, and Brij Bhushan Goyal, Alumni Secretary, besides NSS volunteers Harjot Singh, Vivek Kumar and Jashanjeet Singh, along with several other students and alumni.

Speaking on the occasion, Brij Bhushan Goyal said that the college has a proud legacy of producing several soldiers and officers who made the supreme sacrifice while defending the nation. He recalled the contributions of Major Shivdev Singh Sidhu and Captain Vijay Sehgal, both prominent heroes of the 1962 Goa Liberation War, Major Bhupinder Singh and Captain Jagdev Singh Grewal, both martyrs of the 1965 Indo-Pak War, and Major Gurjinder Singh Grewal, who laid down his life during the 1971 war. Principal Gursharanjit Singh Sandhu and Col. J.S. Gill appreciated the initiative of the Alumni Association and the current students for keeping alive the memories of the nation's heroes and inspiring younger generations with their ideals of courage, patriotism and selfless service.

The NSS volunteers expressed that learning about the sacrifices of these brave soldiers from their seniors had deepened their sense of patriotism and commitment towards the nation. The gathering also paid solemn homage to the 69 martyrs from Ludhiana district who laid down their lives during the Kargil operations, reaffirming the resolve to preserve the legacy of India's brave defenders.
