Punjab National Bank Organises “Run for Forest, Run for Environment” in Mohali
S.A.S.Nagar 26 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : To promote environmental conservation, increase forest cover in Punjab, and spread awareness under the campaign “Yudh Nashyan Virudh”, Punjab National Bank successfully organized “Run for Forest, Run for Environment” at GMADA Sports Complex, Sector 78, Mohali. Addressing the participants, Ramanuj Prasad and Biswojit Biswal emphasized the importance of increasing Punjab’s forest cover and creating greater environmental awareness within the community. They highlighted that the period from July to mid-August is ideal for tree plantation and encouraged citizens to actively participate in plantation drives across the state.
They further stressed that youth should be encouraged to participate in sports and fitness activities, as an active lifestyle helps build a healthier and drug-free society. The event also carried the message of “Yudh Nashyan Virudh”, inspiring young people to stay away from substance abuse and adopt positive, healthy habits. According to VedVox Sports, the event featured four categories: 21 KM Half Marathon, 10 KM Run, 5 KM Run, and Fun Run. The enthusiastic participation of nearly 400 runners from different age groups made the event a grand success.
