Set timeline for Bains’ resignation, Warring tells Mann
Dares AAP to practice in Punjab what it preached in Delhi
Asserts, Congress will ensure accountability for paper leaks in Punjab
Chandigarh 26 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today reiterated his demand that the Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains must resign. “The buck stops at the minister”, he said while referring to frequent paper leaks in Punjab during the AAP government. “Practice in Punjab, what you preached in Delhi”, he challenged the AAP leadership.
The PCC president took a dig at the AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia for claiming that no paper leaks took place in Punjab during his party’s tenure. “The AAP leader has the audacity to speak such blatant lies when everything is on record”, he noted while pointing out how the paper leaks were extensively reported across the media.
He directly asked the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to set the timeline for Education Minister Harjot Bains’ resignation. “Your leader Arvind Kejriwal has congratulated the students for forcing Dharmendra Pradhan to resign over paper leaks, now it is your turn to make your minister resign for precisely the same reasons”, Warring told Mann, adding, “if you don’t sack Bains immediately, your double face will further be exposed”.
The PCC president asserted that the Congress will be chalking out a statewide agitational programme to enforce and ensure accountability and resignation of the education minister over paper leaks. “You can’t say one thing in Delhi and do totally the opposite in Punjab”, he told the AAP leadership while pointing out that while they sought Pradhan’s resignation in Delhi, they are defending their own minister in Punjab.
