Warring slams Mann over Punjab power cuts
- Says, 24x7 supply claim exposed
Chandigarh 27 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Monday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying that the AAP government’s claims of providing uninterrupted 24x7 electricity had been exposed by prolonged power cuts across the state. Warring said residents were enduring hours-long outages despite extreme heat, with children, senior citizens and patients among those worst affected. He said that the government’s promise of round-the-clock power existed only in advertisements while people continued to suffer due to unreliable electricity supply.
The Congress leader also noted that inadequate power supply was disrupting irrigation during the paddy season, raising concerns among farmers over the safety of their crops. He said prolonged outages were affecting agricultural operations and increasing anxiety in rural areas. Accusing the state government of focusing on publicity instead of governance, Warring said Punjab’s people needed dependable electricity rather than “hollow promises”. He demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann respond to the growing public concerns over the power situation.
