CACTA Executive Body Elected Unopposed : Dr. Gurcharan Singh Gill elected as President &  Dr. Komil Tyagi as General Secretary

Chandigarh 4 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Executive Body of the Chandigarh Aided College Teachers’ Association (CACTA) for the tenure August 2026 to July 2028 has been elected unopposed, reflecting consensus and unity among the teaching fraternity of Chandigarh’s aided colleges. The newly elected Executive Body comprises Dr. Gurcharan Singh Gill, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, as President; Dr. Surinder Kaur, Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, and Dr. Sumit Goklaney, DAV College, Sector 10, as Vice-Presidents; Dr. Komil Tyagi, MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36, as General Secretary; Dr. Savneet Kaur, Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, as Joint Secretary; Dr. Sukhraj Singh, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, as Finance Secretary; and Dr. Rinkey Priya Bali, GGDSD College, Sector 32, as Auditor.

The election process was conducted under the supervision of Presiding/Returning Officers Dr. Gurmej Singh and Dr. Kulwinder Singh. The newly elected team expressed gratitude to the teaching community for the confidence reposed in them and reiterated its commitment to work collectively for the rights, welfare and professional interests of teachers serving in Chandigarh’s aided colleges. The Executive Body will continue to pursue important issues concerning teachers with the Chandigarh Administration, Panjab University and other competent authorities. The unopposed election of the entire team was welcomed as a strong message of unity, cooperation and collective resolve within CACTA.
