RWA Sector 18 held a meeting with police officials regarding security in Sector 18 Chandigarh 19 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : An important meeting was held at the Sector 18 Community Center on Saturday, September 19th, to discuss the security situation in the area and the concerns of residents. Questions Raised Over Punjab’s Deteriorating Law and Order After Threat to Sanatan Sena President
Chandigarh 28 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Questions have once again been raised over the law-and-order situation in Punjab. Amid allegations of threats from gangsters, Rohit Sharma, Punjab state president of the Rashtriya Sanatan Sena Bharat, has expressed apprehension for his life and sought security from the police. According to Sharma, around ten days ago, he received an audio message from Germany threatening him to leave Punjab. He alleged that around 1 a.m. last night, while he was travelling from Chandigarh to his home in Zirakpur, some people allegedly attempted to surround his car on the way. He said he managed to speed away and reached home safely.
Sharma said that following the incident, he approached the Mohali Police in the morning and sought security. However, he alleged that instead of providing protection, the police advised him to leave Punjab. Questioning the situation, Sharma said that if a citizen feels unsafe in his own state and is advised to leave after receiving threats, where is he supposed to go? He urged the police administration to conduct a serious investigation, take action against those responsible and provide him immediate security.
While the Punjab Police has repeatedly claimed to be taking action against organised crime and gangster networks, Sharma questioned the apparent contradiction of a social worker and community leader allegedly being advised to leave the state rather than being provided protection.
