RWA Sector 18 held a meeting with police officials regarding security in Sector 18 Chandigarh 19 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : An important meeting was held at the Sector 18 Community Center on Saturday, September 19th, to discuss the security situation in the area and the concerns of residents. DSP-East P Abhinandan and Sector 19 Police Station in-charge Sarita Roy were special guests at the meeting. Organized under the auspices of RWA Sector 18 official Harman Mehta, the event was attended by Dr. Rajneesh Sharma, President of RWA Sector 18 A and B, and officials Sandhya Dharam, Sandhya Dham, and Harmel Singh, President of RWA Sector 18 D, and Harinder Bhatti, along with area councilors Anoop Gupta and Sumita Kohli, among others. Devotees observe Uttam Shauch Dharma and commemorate the Nirvana Day of Pushpadant Bhagwaan

Chandigarh 19 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On the fourth day of the ongoing sacred Dashlakshan Parv at Shri Digamber Jain Mandir, Sector-27 B, Chandigarh, Uttam Shauch Dharma was observed today with devotion and spiritual fervour. Devotees participated in worship, Abhishek and Shantidhara and resolved to cultivate inner purity, contentment and freedom from greed and excessive attachment. In Jain tradition, Uttam Shauch is associated with inner purity, contentment and freedom from greed. The privilege of performing the Pratham Abhishek was received by Advocate Adarsh Jain and Tulika Jain. The privilege of performing the Pratham Shantidhara was received by Karun Jain and Saumya Jain, while the privilege of performing the Dwitiya Shantidhara was received by Dr. Sanyog Jain, Capt. J.K. Jain and Shail Jain.

During the Dashlakshan Vidhan, the privilege of becoming Saudharmendra was received by Advocate Adarsh Jain and Tulika Jain. The privilege of becoming Kuber Indra was received by Anmol Jain and Nitika Jain, while the privilege of becoming Ishan Indra was received by Satish Jain and Indu Jain. Uttam Shauch Dharma is not limited to external cleanliness. It emphasises purity of the mind, contentment and freedom from greed. Jain philosophy encourages individuals to regulate their needs, control excessive desires and cultivate contentment. Inner purity and freedom from attachment are regarded as important aspects of spiritual progress. The day was also observed as the Nirvana Day of Lord Pushpadanta (Suvidhinatha), the ninth Tirthankara of Jainism. According to Jain tradition, Lord Pushpadanta is the ninth among the 24 Tirthankaras and attained Nirvana at Sammed Shikharji. On this sacred occasion, a 9-kilogram Nirvana Laddu was offered to the Lord. In addition, devotees offered 25 Nirvana Laddus weighing 1 kilogram each. In Jain tradition, offering a Nirvana Laddu on the Nirvana Day of a Tirthankara is a devotional expression of reverence and gratitude towards the liberated soul. The remembrance of Nirvana inspires devotees towards self-purification, freedom from karmic bondage and the ultimate goal of liberation. Today’s Poojan Samagri was sponsored by Kamal Jain and the Advocate Adarsh Jain family. Today’s Bhojan was also sponsored by Kamal Jain and the Advocate Adarsh Jain family.
The evening programme began with a grand Maha Aarti at 6:30 PM. Thereafter, the documentary “Tamil Jains” was screened on the big screen at the temple. The documentary portrays the history, identity and struggle for survival of the Tamil Jain community and highlights the challenges and hardships faced by the community in preserving its religious and cultural heritage. The film was created by GEO Jainism. The special screening was coordinated by Amit Jain and Sukh Darshan Jain. During Dashlakshan Parv, a large number of devotees are attending the temple every day and participating in various religious observances. The temple premises continue to remain filled with devotion and spirituality as devotees engage in self-reflection, discipline and religious worship. The programme was attended by Dharam Bahadur Jain, President; Advocate Adarsh Jain, Vice President; Sant Kumar Jain, General Secretary; and Raja Bahadur Singh Jain, Cashier, along with other committee members and a large number of devotees.
