Chief Minister Manwa-Dhian Samman Yojana' should not be turned into a tool for Aam Aadmi Party's publicity; application forms must be made available to every needy woman: Hardev Singh Ubha
Chandigarh 25 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Hardev Singh Ubha, State Press Secretary of BJP Punjab, alleged that instead of implementing the Punjab government's 'Chief Minister Manwa-Dhian Samman Yojana' in a transparent and fair manner, it is allegedly being used as a medium for the Aam Aadmi Party's political campaigning and vote-bank politics. He stated that complaints are being received from various regions of Punjab alleging that Aam Aadmi Party leaders are providing voter lists to ASHA workers and instructing them to collect application forms only from the women included in those specific lists. If this is indeed happening, a large number of eligible and needy women could be deprived of the scheme's benefits.
Ubha mentioned receiving complaints from several locations that application forms for the scheme are not being made available to every eligible and needy woman, preventing many from applying despite their desire to do so. He demanded that the government immediately ensure the scheme's application forms reach all eligible women across every village, city, and ward without any discrimination. He alleged that in many places, women are being asked or coerced to visit the homes of Aam Aadmi Party leaders or party-affiliated centers to fill out the application forms. If these allegations are true, it raises serious questions regarding the fairness, transparency, and credibility of government welfare schemes.
Hardev Singh Ubha asserted that government welfare schemes are not the property of any political party but are funded by public tax money. Therefore, every eligible woman should receive the scheme's benefits without any political discrimination, pressure, or need for recommendations. He urged the Bhagwant Mann government to rise above vote-bank politics and ensure that the scheme's benefits reach all genuinely eligible women equally.
He demanded that the Punjab government conduct a high-level and impartial inquiry into the complaints received regarding this matter. Additionally, it must be ensured that application forms for the scheme are easily accessible to every eligible and needy woman and that the application process is completed without any political interference, so that the benefits of the scheme reach the truly deserving women in a transparent and fair manner.
