Chandigarh 22 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring lashed out at the Bhagwant Mann government on Wednesday over police lathi-charge on protesting sanitation workers in Barnala, calling it yet another proof of the ruling party’s anti-worker mindset. “The government’s first instinct is force, not dialogue. It shows a complete lack of empathy for people who are just asking for justice,” he added. Demanding an impartial, high-level probe into the Barnala incident, the Congress leader called for strict action against any officers who used excessive force. He urged the state to ensure immediate medical care for those injured and to open talks with the workers' unions without delay. “Punjab deserves a leadership that listens, not one that relies on fear and police force to suppress its own citizens,” Warring said, assuring the sanitation workers that the Congress party stands firmly behind them in their fight for dignity and fair treatment.
