Chandigarh 24 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : CSC Horticulture Workers Union Chandigarh held a gate rally today at MC Horticulture Booth Sector 36 in the wake of ongoing protests. In the rally, prominently raising the demand to confirm all the contract employees who have completed 10 years and to bring the outsourced employees under the department and to pay equal pay on the basis of equal work, said that the union does not accept anything less than this. The administration has to take appropriate steps to implement the demands of the temporary employees. Addressing the gate meeting, Union President Harkesh Chand, General Secretary Hardeep Singh, Deputy President Budhram, Joint Secretary Ajaib Singh and Sohanlal Finance Secretary Rajendra Kumar, Gurpreet Singh, Organization Secretary Binod Meelu, Devi Singh etc. strongly criticized the authority of Chandigarh administration and Municipal Corporation and said that due to the negative and anti-employee working style of the administration and corporation, the problems of employees are continuously increasing.
This is the reason why all the delivages who have completed 10 years, to confirm the contract employees outright, to provide job security till retirement to the outsourced employees directly under the administration or government-centred agency instead of JAM portal and to implement the principle of equal work and equal pay, to restore the old pension, to fill the vacant promotion posts in the departments quickly, to give immediate retirement benefits to the retired employees, parks and green belts of the horticulture department.
