Toronto/Punjab 23 July ( Hardev Chuhan/Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : During the 12th World Punjabi Conference organized by Jagat Punjabi Sabha and Ontario Friends Club, delegates from all over the country and abroad were taken on a tour from Brampton to the House of Commons, Ottawa.Under the supervision of Chairman Ajaib Singh Chatha, MP from Brampton Sonia Sidhu felicitated all the delegates at Ottawa. After the tea service, there was a detailed discussion about the problems faced by Punjabis in Canada. He praised Ajaib Singh Chatha and said that through conferences, not only are educational, political, cultural and economic needs resolved, but our relations are also strengthened at the international level. On this occasion, Ricky Gogna and others told him about the difficulties faced by Punjab residents in Canada, in which regard MP Sonia Sidhu promised to continue to provide sincere cooperation. After the tour of Parliament House, the delegates from outside were honored by the administrator Sucha Singh Mann at Gurdwara Sahib, Ottawa.
Mississauga Mayor Caroline Parish and Deputy Mayor Matt Mahone, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and Deputy Mayor and City Councillor Harkirat Singh, presented commemorative certificates to all delegates, including conference officers Ajaib Singh Chatha, Sardool Singh Thiara, Santokh Singh Sandhu and Inderbir Singh Cheema, at their respective government offices.
He said that such conferences help in strengthening the relations between India and Canada. He said that the partners, intellectuals and business personalities play an important role in our educational exchanges. These conferences make an important and memorable contribution in strengthening our economic and political relations and giving them the right direction.
