He asked why did the BJP government at the centre woke up to the problem of drugs only on the eve of elections. Chandigarh 29 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann was trying to divert attention of the people from the real issues of the State, even as he questioned why it was silent on the LPU disturbance, the Gayatri Bishnoi controversy, Rs five crore bribery evidence against Gurpreet Kaur Mann and obscene videos of ministers Lal Chand Kataruchak and Balkar Singh.
Addressing a press conference here, SAD Chief Spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler said it was very shocking to see that instead of replying to the failures of the government, its spokespersons were inventing make belief issues to defame the SAD. He said more than half a dozen press conferences had been held by AAP on issues concerning the SGPC and the SAD but the government was mum on how rumours were allowed to go out of hand resulting in large scale arson and violence in LPU, Jalandhar. “The government is yet to reply to assertions that the situation was allowed to get out of hand to punish LPU chancellor Ashok Mittal who shifted his loyalty to the BJP and asked AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal to vacate his official bungalow in Delhi. Kler said besides this there was a viral video of Rajasthan resident Gayatri Bishnoi who was found to be residing in a ministerial bungalow without proper authorization. “The AAP government is also yet to reply on how government accommodation meant for Cabinet Ministers of the State been handed over to private persons working for Delhi based leaders.
He said the AAP government had also failed to respond to allegations levelled against Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who was accused of taking a bribe of Rs. 5 crore to free a serial rapist from jail. He also said apart from these burning issues, the AAP government even failed to reply on issues of viral videos of Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and Balkar Singh who were accused of sodomy and physical abuse respectively. He said instead of addressing and replying to real issues, AAP spokespersons were busy attacking the SGPC and the SAD. He said similarly no action had been taken against Health Minister Balbir Singh who was an accused in a molestation case besides allowing his government accommodation to be misused.
