Warring asks Shah on finishing drugs Says, it is like post-dated cheque from a crashing bank Chandigarh 30 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today asked the union Home Minister Amit Shah as to why has he set such a long deadline, till December, 2029, for finishing the problem of drugs in Punjab. “Leave aside Punjab, who knows whether the BJP will be in power at the centre by then, as in all likelihood it will not?”, Warring asked while remarking, "it is like a long post-dated cheque of a crashing bank". He asked why did the BJP government at the centre woke up to the problem of drugs only on the eve of elections. All Human Rights Organisations, Political Parties, Social Organisations and Sikh Sangats Should Participate in the ‘Bandi Singh Release March’ : Giani Harpreet Singh

The march will commence at 9:00 AM on October 2 from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib

Chandigarh 29 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : President of the Shiromani Akali Dal Punar -Surjit, Giani Harpreet Singh, has appealed to all human rights organisations, political parties, social organisations and Sikh Sangats to participate wholeheartedly in the **‘Bandi Singh Release March’** and raise a strong voice for the release of those Singhs who have already spent twice the period of imprisonment prescribed for their sentences, so that the governments are compelled to listen to their demands. The call for the march has been given by the **Qaumi Insaaf Morcha** for the release of the Bandi Singhs. The march will begin from **Fatehgarh Sahib on October 2** and will conclude on **October 3 at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo**.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that the purpose of the march is to bring the issue of the release of the Bandi Singhs before the general public and, upon reaching the Takht Sahib, offer an **Ardas before Guru Sahib** for the release of these Singhs. He said that the attitude of the governments has become extremely rigid. Therefore, all Punjabis should participate in this march in large numbers. He further said that fighting for human rights has historically been a part of the tradition of Punjabis.
