CMO Has Become a Den of Corruption, With a Mafia Racket From Postings to Tenders : Tarun Chugh
Don't Run From the CBI Probe, Answer! Kejriwal and Mann Must Account for Every Penny of Punjab's Money : Chugh
Chandigarh 7 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : BJP National Headquarters In-Charge and MP Tarun Chugh levelled serious allegations against the Punjab Chief Minister's Office, saying it has become a hub of corruption. He alleged that mafia elements have been interfering in postings, appointments, tenders and government decisions. Despite repeated complaints of money being taken for transfers and postings, the Bhagwant Mann government and the administration have allegedly remained busy shielding the mafia. Chugh said that, following the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the CBI has begun its investigation and carried out action at multiple locations in Punjab. The time has come for the truth to be separated from the lies, he said. Instead of giving a political colour to a court-directed probe, Bhagwant Mann should face the investigation. There will be no more lament, only justice, and accountability must be fixed on the basis of facts that emerge.
Chugh said the Aam Aadmi Party made grand claims of honest politics and a fight against corruption during the Anna Hazare movement. Today, serious allegations of corruption are being raised against the very government that party runs. Those who once demanded that anyone facing allegations must step down are now questioning the action of investigative agencies. The people of Punjab are watching this double standard. Chugh said the allegations of corruption in IAS and IPS postings, departmental proceedings, tenders, licences, CLU matters and other government work must be probed to the bottom. If public money has been misused or any illegal transactions have taken place, the entire money trail must be exposed and every penny belonging to the people of Punjab must be accounted for.
Chugh said Arvind Kejriwal and the top leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party must also answer the serious questions being raised about the Punjab government's functioning. Punjab cannot be treated as a vehicle for political and organisational activity while its own people are left demanding answers on governance and the state treasury. Chugh told Bhagwant Mann that political rhetoric and attempts to discredit the investigation will not change the truth. If corruption has occurred at any level, those responsible must face action and public money must be recovered. The investigation will move forward, and the truth will emerge on the basis of evidence.
