Soya Fest 2026 Raises Awareness on Protein, Nutrition and Healthy Eating

Chandigarh 3 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Indo Soya Food Association, in association with the Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (CIHMCT), organised ‘Soya Fest 2026’ at Hotel Beckons, Sector 42, Chandigarh, on Saturday to promote awareness about healthy eating, balanced nutrition and the importance of protein. Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi was the Chief Guest. The fest featured stalls showcasing soya-based foods, millets, vegan food and microgreens, offering visitors practical information on nutritious food choices and ways to include them in everyday meals. Soya entrepreneurs, nutrition experts, chefs, students and citizens from across the country participated in the event.
During the seminar, experts discussed nutrition, food safety, hospitality and social development. Dr Anureet Luthra, Dietitian, and Dr Poonam Khanna, Nutritionist at PGI, highlighted the importance of a balanced diet and adequate protein. Sukhwinder Singh, Designated Officer, Food Safety, Chandigarh Administration, spoke about food safety and quality, while Vishal Kalia, Principal, CIHMCT, discussed healthy food and hospitality. Dr Vivek Trivedi, Social Development Officer, MC Chandigarh, highlighted community participation in nutrition awareness.
Association President Rajiv Sharma and Advisor Nishith Patel said changing lifestyles have made awareness about nutritious, protein-rich food increasingly important. The event also showcased soya chunks, soya granules, tofu, soya milk and other products. Awards were presented in categories including Soya Pioneer, Soya Young Entrepreneur, Soya Fest Supporter, Soya Fest Media Appreciation, Soya Innovation and Soya Outstanding Contribution Award.
