Now in Ludhiana: Free Liver Screening Every Thursday

Ludhiana 28 February ( PDL ) : Poor lifestyle choices, junk food, processed food, and lack of exercise are contributing to the rising cases of fatty liver disease. Among these, cases of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are also increasing. According to Dr. Nitin Shankar Bahl, Director of the Institute of Gastro and Liver Diseases, 30% of total liver patients suffer from NAFLD. Early detection through liver screening can help in timely intervention and treatment. Sharing details about Fortis Hospital Ludhiana’s free screening campaign, Dr. Nitin emphasized that fast food, central obesity, and excessive sugar consumption are major reasons behind the growing number of liver disease cases in Punjab and across India. Evidence-based studies suggest that coffee consumption can be beneficial for liver health. To raise awareness, Fortis Hospital will organize a free special liver screening every Thursday from 2 PM to 4 PM at its Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana facility.
