Powermen compelled to re-start agitation programme against the betrayal attitude of the Chandigarh Administration

Demand high level enquiry of retiring 200 employees, protest demonstration in all the offices will be held on 06.03.2025.
Chandigarh 27 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : An urgent working committee meeting of the UT Powermen Union Chandigarh took place on 22.02.2025 under the chairmanship of S. Amrik Singh president of the union, meeting discussed post privatization situation and problem faced by the employees due to transfer in private company. Meeting decided to lodge protest rally and demonstrations before all the offices on 06.03.2025 during lunch hours for the implementation of the following demands. 1. Minutes of meeting dated 31.01.2025 held with the union under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner U T Chandigarh be issued and further tripartite agreement be issued immediately as assured in the meeting and union deffered strike. 2. Salary of out source workers i.e. lineman, assist. Lineman and Drivers for the month of January 25 be released immediately. 3. High level enquiry of retiring over 200 employees, causing hundreds crore loss to Govt. Exchequer due to wrong decision of HOD. 4. Review the pick & choose basis adjustment of the officers and employees in Electricity Wing i.e. Electrical Inspector, State Load Dispatch Centre & State Transmission Unit and demanded to take over the Assets of STU i.e. 220/66//33 kv substation and transmission lines under Electricity Wing and 1st come last go formula be adopted in case of each and every category so that paving way to Junior/who joined department at later stage be adjusted against these posts. 5 Employees transferred from Electricity Wing of Engineering Department, UT Chandigarh to Chandigarh Power Distribution limited be treated as Govt. Employees till finalization of transfer policy or upto one year being provisional transfer as per CAT orders, and treated them as on deemed deputation in the CPDL. 6. Grant arrears of pay scales, bonus, children allowance etc. of past period. 7. Continuation of Govt. Houses of Employees residing in Electricity and Common Pool houses and air mark at least 250 houses in Electy Colonies being functional requirement and essential services. 8. Implementation of CGHS scheme and treatment in PGI, GMSH, GMCH be continued including chronic deceases. 9. Filling up promotional posts on the basis of existing recruitment rules, as well as on the basis of recommendation as proposed amendments. 10. Withdrawal of FIR lodged against the representatives of union and employees as assured in the meeting held on 31.01.2025. Union started campaign in preparation of 06.03.2025 demonstration, a meeting was held today at Electricity Office, Sector 35. The representatives of the union appeal to all the employees to participate in 6th March 2025, protest.
