Over 500 participate to express interfaith harmony, patriotism and community spirit
Chandigarh 31 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In an emphatic tribute to the courage, sacrifice and unwavering dedication of the Indian Armed Forces, a grand Tiranga Yatra was organized in Chandigarh today drawing an enthusiastic participation from all walks of life. The event was held under the initiative of Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju (Retd IAS) a former Chief Secretary (Tamil Nadu) and Chairman, KS Raju Legal Trust with the blessings of Shriman Sant Baba Pritpal Singh, Founder Chairman, Shiromani Sant Khalsa International Foundation.The Tiranga Yatra commenced from the Gurudwara Gur Sagar Sahib (Near Sukhna Lake) which passes through Sukhna Lake, Sarovar Path, Sector 7 Petrol Pump, Sector 7 Market, and culminated at Gurudwara Sahib, Sector 7. As many as 1000 people especially from the Sikh community turned out in large numbers to reaffirm their deep-rooted legacy of valour and patriotism as many carried the Indian National Flag and sacred Nishan Sahib with pride and reverence. The procession was led by Band whose stirring renditions of patriotic songs filled the air with emotion and pride. Adding further significance to the Yatra was the participation of prominent religious leaders from various faiths - Sikh, Hindu, Christian and Muslim in a gesture of communal harmony and collective gratitude to the armed forces. Expressing his sentiments, Dr Raju said, “"This Tiranga Yatra is a symbol of that spirit, a tribute to our brave soldiers and a message of unity. Today, every Indian walks with pride, knowing that our country can protect itself and stand tall. This is a new India which is confident, self-reliant and ready to strike against injustice. We honour our martyrs and promise to never forget their sacrifice."
