Livasa Hospital Amritsar Sets Benchmark in Advanced Liver Cancer Management

Amritsar 30 Noivember ( PDL ) : Livasa Hospital Amritsar has achieved a significant milestone in cancer care by successfully managing an advanced case of liver cancer in a 75-year-old patient with multiple health challenges, including heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure, using advanced immunotherapy. The patient was diagnosed with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, a liver cancer spread to nearby lymph nodes and lungs. Because of a recent heart attack and angioplasty, she was not suitable for standard targeted cancer medication, which carries higher cardiac and bleeding risks. The oncology team therefore opted for a safer and more effective treatment approach through dual immunotherapy, tailored specifically to her condition. The case was led by Dr. Amritjot Singh Randhawa, Consultant – Medical Oncology, who carefully designed the treatment plan considering the patient’s age and complex medical history. The patient has shown excellent recovery, is clinically stable, and continues to improve — sending a strong message that cancer treatment is possible at any age with the right expertise and technology. Sharing his views, Dr. Amritjot Singh Randhawa said, “Advanced age and existing medical conditions should never become a reason to stop treatment. With the right strategy and modern therapies, even high‑risk cancer cases can be managed effectively and safely.” The CEO, Livasa Hospital, stated, “This success reflects our belief that world‑class treatment should be available close to home. We are committed to offering patients the confidence that no matter how complex the case, expert care and hope are always within reach. Divya Prashant Bajaj, Facility Director, Livasa Hospital Amritsar, added, “Livasa Hospital Amritsar is built to handle challenging cases with a strong clinical team and advanced technology. This case highlights our promise to deliver care with precision, compassion, and accountability. Livasa Hospital Amritsar continues to strengthen its leadership in cancer, cardiac, and critical care services. With advanced diagnostics, immunotherapy facilities, and experienced specialists, the hospital is dedicated to delivering ethical, safe, and patient‑first healthcare while setting new benchmarks in medical excellence across the region.
