SGPC Should Send Legal Notice to Arshdeep Singh Kaler : Gurpratap Singh Wadala Chandigarh 6 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal Punar-Surjit General Secretary Gurpratap Singh Wadala, in a written press statement, said that the SGPC President announced today during a press conference that a legal notice was being sent to a news channel for allegedly starting the live broadcast of Gurbani without authorization. However, Wadala said that the legal notice should actually have been served to Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kaler, spokesperson of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), who had declared during a press conference yesterday that any television channel could telecast Gurbani live through the link issued by the SGPC. Wadala questioned whether the SGPC President had the courage to issue a legal notice to Arshdeep Singh Kaler and ask under what authority he made such an announcement on behalf of the SGPC. Patiala Tax Bar Association holds GST Seminar Highlighting Latest Amendments & Urgent Refund Concerns

Patiala 30 November ( PDL ) : The Patiala Tax Bar Association (PTBA) today successfully organised an insightful seminar focused on the latest developments under the Goods and Services Tax (GST), drawing robust participation from tax professionals and PTBA members. The programme was graced by PTBA President K.K. Singla, Sh. Raakesh Cajla, and Senior Member Adv. Rajesh Malhotra, who engaged with participants and addressed the gathering. Renowned GST expert CS Sanjay Malhotra from Chandigarh served as the keynote speaker. He delivered an in-depth presentation on GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C compliance requirements and practical challenges, Recent GST amendments effective from 22.09.2025 and upcoming GST amendments applicable from 01.10.2025, with special focus on their impact on businesses and taxpayers During the seminar, PTBA strongly voiced concerns over the non-issuance of GST refunds by the State of Punjab, highlighting the severe working-capital crunch and financial stress being faced by taxpayers. The Association appealed to the authorities to ensure timely processing and release of long-pending refunds, enabling smoother business operations. The session concluded with a highly interactive Q&A discussion, where participants sought clarifications on practical issues and received expert guidance. PTBA extended heartfelt appreciation to CS Sanjay Malhotra for sharing valuable knowledge and thanked all members for contributing to the success of the event.
