AAP’s false narrative against Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its attempt to stage dharna against SAD boomerangs : SAD

Chandigarh 20 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said attempts by the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) to spread a false narrative regarding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s deposition at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its attempt to stage dharnas against the Shiromani Akali Dal had boomeranged. Addressing a press conference here,  SAD Chief Spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler said AAP had attempted to gherao and stage protest at district headquarters of the SAD but its attempts failed miserably as they could not muster support of requisite numbers despite help from the police force. 111th Meeting of the Regional Committee of the EPFO Held at Mohali

S.A.S.Nagar 30 December ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 111th meeting of the Regional Committee of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Punjab Region, Chandigarh, was held on 30 December 2025 at Punjab Labour Bhawan, Phase-X, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali, in hybrid mode. The meeting was presided over by Shri Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Secretary (Labour).

Rajiv Bisht, Secretary, Regional Committee and Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Punjab Zone), led the team of officers from all Regional Offices across Punjab. Employees’ and employers’ representatives of the Regional Committee, along with the Officers-in-Charge of the Regional Offices of the Punjab Region, also attended the meeting.

The Regional Committee of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation is an important tripartite body that promotes cooperation among key stakeholders, including government officials, employers, and employees’ representatives. It serves as a vital platform for dialogue and consultation to ensure the effective implementation of social security measures.

The meeting focused on reviewing the performance of the Regional Offices of the Punjab Region, including coverage of establishments, recovery of arrears, and contractor compliance through the Principal Employer Portal. Key agenda items were discussed and deliberated upon in detail. A presentation on the newly implemented Code on Social Security, 2020, was also delivered during the meeting.

The meeting further covered various EPF-related matters, including the Government of India’s newly launched Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), which aims to promote job creation in the formal sector and encourage employers to hire first-time employees. Emphasis was laid on the need for continued coordination among EPFO, government authorities, and stakeholders to effectively safeguard and promote employees’ social security benefits.
