CTU Outsourced Employees Call Off 50-Day Peaceful Protest Following Assurance by Senior BJP Leader Sanjay Tandon
Chandigarh 30 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The peaceful protest being held for the past 50 days by outsourced employees removed from CTU ended today after senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon assured the employees that he will hold discussions with administration and get the employees reinstated. Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon gave an assurance that nearly 300 outsourced employees removed from CTU would be reinstated in their jobs after holding parleys with administration. Following this assurance, the employees peacefully called off their protest.
In this connection, a delegation of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) had raised the issue during a Janata Darbar meeting with Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria. BMS President Balwinder Singh and CTU Union’s Jaswant Singh prominently demanded reinstatement of the employees. In the same sequence, senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon and BJP President Jatinder Malhotra also urged the Chandigarh Administration to reconsider the matter with sensitivity. After the Chandigarh Administrator and the Administration adopted a positive approach, Sanjay Tandon, assured and consoled the employees and facilitated the conclusion of the protest. Senior BJP leaders, office bearers of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, CTU Union, CTU Contract Workers Union, and a large number of employees were present on the occasion.
On the assurance, the executive body of the CTU Contract Workers Union expressed gratitude to Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon , Chandigarh BJP, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, CTU Union, Chandigarh Administrator, Chandigarh Administration & Transport Department. Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon was welcomed and felicitated with flower garlands and a siropa.
