Chandigarh 7 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Under the guidance of Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Burst, the 'All India State Agricultural Marketing Board T-20 Cricket Tournament 2026 Season – 2' is being organized, in which teams from Agricultural Marketing Boards of different states across the country are participating. Teams from Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board, Uttarakhand State Agricultural Marketing Board, Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board have arrived to participate in this tournament. Before the formal start of this tournament, which will run from June 7 to June 12, Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Burst organized a special dinner with the players of all the teams at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh. During this, the players and officials of the teams from different states who arrived from all over the country were warmly welcomed. On this occasion, S. Burst welcomed all the teams and players participating in the tournament by giving them bouquets and met them. Along with this, he also encouraged all the players to perform brilliantly in the tournament.
During this, the Punjab Mandi Board Chairman laid special emphasis on the importance of sports. He said that Punjab Mandi Board has opened the mandis of Punjab state as indoor stadiums during the off-season to connect children with sports, where coaching is given free of cost. Under this, basketball is taught at Malout, badminton at Sri Muktsar Sahib, basketball at Sultanpur Lodhi and skating is also taught to children at Rampura Phul Mandi. Burst said that sports are an important part of our lives and they teach us discipline, time management and team spirit. He said that sports are very important to keep today's youth away from drugs and to live a healthy life. It is very important to participate in sports along with duty. Sports are the only means that keep a person mentally and physically refreshed in the midst of daily busyness. When our body and mind are healthy, only then will we be able to do our work and public services in a better way.Burst expressed happiness that such national level tournaments provide an opportunity for employees and officials from different states of the country to understand each other's culture and strengthen mutual brotherhood. He said that this T-20 cricket tournament will continue till June 12. Punjab Mandi Board has made elaborate arrangements to make the tournament a success. Senior officials and employees of Punjab Mandi Board were also present during this event held at Kisan Bhawan.
