Thousands of employees and pensioners from across Punjab stage massive protest march to Chief Minister's residence
Chandigarh 29 June( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Thousands of employees and pensioners from across Punjab, led by leading organizations of electricity employees and pensioners, staged a massive protest march to the Chief Minister's residence and demonstrated vigorously. Earlier, a massive protest dharna was held at some distance from the residence under the chairmanship of state leaders Kulwinder Singh Dhillon and Manjit Singh Basarke, announcing the next struggle.
On this occasion, it was decided that electricity workers will perform only their duties as per work-to-rule from July 1st and on July 21st and 22nd, electricity workers from across Punjab will take a collective leave and protest against the Punjab government. Pensioner News
During the collective leave, workers of pensioner organizations will hand over arrests in front of DC offices across Punjab. The major organizations included PSEB Employees Joint Forum, Bijli Mulamzam Ekta Manch Punjab, Association of Junior Engineers, Grid Substation Employees Union, Powercom and Transco Pensioners Union Punjab (affiliated with ETC), Pensioners Welfare Federation.
