Goldy was detained by the police during Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit to Sangrur. Warring said that Goldy had announced in advance that he had certain questions to ask to the Chief Minister. However, much before the Chief Minister’s visit, Goldy was detained and prevented from asking any questions. “I wonder why Bhagwant Mann is afraid of Goldy?” Warring asked, while telling him that today he may be able to use the Punjab Police but within a few months more once the code of conduct is in place, how can he stop people from asking questions. Chandigarh 19 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Inaugurating CHEFEX India 2026 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria called for Punjab to move from basic commodity production toward a value-added food economy with stronger links between farmers, chefs, processors, and markets. The exhibition supports this shift by acting as a marketplace for Northern India’s hospitality and food service sectors, connecting buyers and business owners directly with organic producers, millet suppliers, and equipment manufacturers. Addressing the gathering of renowned chefs and food service entrepreneurs he said, "Great food starts with healthy soil.
Appreciating innovations like the Rose Gulkand Latte by WAB Café, one of the most popular exhibitors at Chefex India 2026, Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, Principal Secretary, Department of Food Processing, Government of Punjab, said that we need to promote culinary innovations by Indian brands on the global stage. She also shared the success of the PMFME Scheme in promoting brands developed by women entrepreneurs in the state.
Adding to success of the event Karan Gilhotra, Chair, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI said that “Large numbers of visitors turned up to explore new food products, hospitality solutions, and culinary displays at the stalls. While Chefex India 2026 maintains a strong B2B focus—bringing together food enterprises, processors, suppliers, and industry professionals—the high footfall added a vibrant public dimension to the exhibition.” The exhibition is open until September 20th, featuring prominent personalities such as Acharya Manish and Chef Vikas Chawla, who will address the gathering on superfoods and healthy recipes to improve public health in India.
