A Foot March Held in Chandigarh by Bulandpuri Sahib Sangat to Spread the Message of Humility, Compassion and Love
Chandigarh 6 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A foot march was organised by the sangat of Bulandpuri Sahib at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh to spread the message of humility, compassion and love. Representatives of Bulandpuri Sahib said that the “Wave of Humility, Compassion and Love”, which began at Bulandpuri Sahib in November 2024 on the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab, has now taken the shape of a large global movement. Carrying the message of love, humility, compassion, peace and mutual harmony for humanity, the campaign has connected millions of people and has now reached more than 100 countries across the world.
Under this campaign, seven world conferences have so far been organised in different countries, including Canada, England, Australia, Italy and India. In addition, foot marches are being organised every month in different cities around the world to take the message of “Humility, Compassion and Love” to people and communities. As part of the same initiative, foot marches were held this week in nearly 70 major cities across the world. A foot march was also organised at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, where hundreds of members of the sangat participated and conveyed the message of love, brotherhood, peace and harmony.
On the occasion, participants carried rose flowers, banners and messages in their hands as they walked, encouraging people to live their lives with compassion, humility and love. Representatives associated with Bulandpuri Sahib, along with sangat members from different areas and several social personalities, also took part in the march. Representatives of Bulandpuri Sahib said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message, “ਮਿਠਤੁ ਨੀਵੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਗੁਣ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਤਤੁ ॥”, is not limited to any particular section or community but is meant for the entire humanity. The “Wave of Humility, Compassion and Love” is moving forward with the aim of bringing this message into practice in today’s world.
A special aspect of the campaign is the weekly inner meditation practice. Through this practice, people are encouraged to connect with their inner selves, calm their minds and make love, humility and compassion a part of their everyday behaviour. The idea is to first create happiness, peace and wellbeing within oneself and then allow that positive impact to reach one’s family, workplace, society and the people around them.
