Dussehra Festival Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Shri Ram Janki Seva Mandal, Sector 45-D, Chandigarh
Chandigarh 20 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The festival of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm today at Shri Ram Janki Seva Mandal, Sector 45-D, Chandigarh. On the final day of Ramleela, the emotional enactment of Lord Shri Ram slaying Ravana was staged, followed by the burning of the huge effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhkaran as a symbol of victory of good over evil. As soon as the effigies were burnt, the entire pandal echoed with chants of "Jai Shri Ram".
On this occasion, the office bearers of the Mandal extended heartfelt Dussehra greetings to all the residents and said that Dussehra inspires us to follow the path of truth, dharma and dignity. A large number of devotees and local residents were present at the function.
