Women Employees Coordination Committee Punjab's organizational convention held
42-member state committee elected with Harmanpreet Kaur Gill as president, Gurpreet Kaur as general secretary
Chandigarh 5 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The state-level organizational conference of the struggling organization of women employees working in various departments of the state "Women Employees Coordination Committee Punjab" was held at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar. Organized under the leadership of the presidium consisting of Harmanpreet Kaur Gill, Gurpreet Kaur, Ranjit Kaur Patti, Bimla Rani, Sharmila Rani, Rano Kheri Gill, women employees from various departments across the state participated in this conference. Professor Surinder Kaur Jaipal, State General Secretary of Mahila Mukti Morcha, who had specially arrived to address this conference, shed light on the condition of women in the state, country and society in detail. She mentioned the atrocities committed by the ruling class against women in the past and the achievements made by women through their struggles for betterment of their living standards and inspired them to struggle in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, PSSF State President Satish Rana and State General Secretary Tirath Singh Bassi said that the Women Employees Coordination Committee has had a very glorious history and it is the main need of the hour for this committee to struggle for the achievement of the demands of women employees in the future as well. Thereafter, the action report was presented by the State General Secretary of this organization, Gurpreet Kaur, and the finance report was presented by the Finance Secretary Ranjit Kaur. Speaking on the action report, various speakers Shivinder Kaur, Mamta Rani, Bimla Rani, Kamaljit Kaur, Rano Kheri Gillan, Sharmila Devi, Praveen Bala, Lakhwinder Kaur, Gurjit Kaur presented their views on the problems of their respective departments and the struggles being waged by the organizations and also demanded to ensure the safety of women in the current times. PSSF leaders Inderjit Virdi, Kuldeep Durka, Raj Bedi presented their views on the importance of the organization and the need for struggles and asked Bhagwant Mann Jundli to contribute his due contribution to the district conventions and future assembly elections to resolve the demands of women employees. PSSF State Finance Secretary Gurdeep Singh Bajwa presented his views and also presented the panel of the next committee which was passed by the entire house amidst slogans. The newly elected committee includes State President Harmanpreet Kaur Gill Faridkot, Senior Vice President Bimla Rani Fazilka, Rano Kheri Gill Sangrur, Sharmila Devi Hoshiarpur, Kamal Randhawa Amritsar, Vice President Mamta Rani Kapurthala, Kamlesh Kaur Ropar, Raj Kumari Hoshiarpur, Kamaljit Kaur Barnala, Monica Masih Patiala, General Secretary Gurpreet Kaur Sangrur, Assistant Secretary Kamaljit Kaur Hoshiarpur, Lakhwinder Kaur Tarn Taran, Raj Rani Nawanshahr, Bharti Sharma Faridkot, Iqbal Kaur Patiala, Finance Secretary Ranjit Kaur Tarn Taran, Assistant Finance Secretary Sumita Ferozepur, Kulwinder Kaur Mohali, Press Secretary Praveen Bala Fatehgarh Sahib, Assistant Press Secretary Rimpi Rani Nawanshahr, Kamaljit Kaur Jalandhar, Organizing Secretary Rajinder Kaur Tarn Taran, Gurjit Kaur Kapurthala, Santosh Passi. Pathankot, Sandeep Kaur Barnala, Publicity Secretary Sukhwinder Kaur Tarn Taran, Rupinder Kaur Sangrur, Harmesh Kaur Ropar, Jasbir Kaur Malerkotla, Pooja Rani Muktsar Sahib, Chief Advisor Raj Bedi Amritsar, Advisor Gurdeep Singh Bajwa Amritsar, Inderjit Virdi Hoshiarpur, besides Shivinder Kaur Ferozepur, Nirmaljit Kaur Amritsar, Ramandeep Kaur Ferozepur, Asha Rani Hoshiarpur, Charanjit Kaur Tarn Taran, Gurmail Kaur Faridkot, Amarjoti Mangat Ferozepur, Kiran Kumari Jalandhar were elected as executive members.
Finally, the State President thanked all the colleagues and, on behalf of the entire state committee, assured that the organization would work with full dedication to address the demands of female employees in the future, while keeping past shortcomings in mind. Announcing future courses of action, the President stated that district committees would be formed in October, followed by a massive state-level rally organized by the Women Employees' Coordination Committee on November 1st in Sangrur—the Chief Minister's constituency. The President also appealed to all female employees to participate actively in the ongoing joint struggles. Leaders such as Rupinder Kaur, Asha Rani, Lakhwinder Singh Khanpur, Gurdev Singh Sidhu, Kuldeep Singh Kaura, Rattan Singh, Nirmal Singh, and Pushpinder Pinky were also present on the occasion.
