CPDL officials said that applications submitted by 12 noon, along with all the requisite documents, would be processed and the temporary power connection released on the same day, subject to the fulfilment of prescribed requirements. Dr Bhanu also shared that earlier the patient would need to stay for 3-4 weeks in hospital for entire knee replacement surgery treatment. But the recent advancement in technology with robotic surgery, now we are doing robotic knee replacement surgery in 12-15 minutes.
Dr Anil Kapoor, senior consultant-ortho said that there is a huge cost advantage for treatment in India. The cost of hip replacement which is around 57000 USD in the USA is just around 7000 USD in India with the same Implant.
